Mary Maureen Geiger, died on Tuesday April 15, 2003 at her home in Denville, NJ. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa, she lived in West Orange, before moving to Denville in 1995.
Maureen graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Wilkes-Barre, PA in 1957 with a nursing degree. She received a Masters degree from St. Josephs College in Standish, Me.
She spent her career as a Registered Nurse in the VA hospital system and at St. Marys Hospital in Orange, NJ. For 28 years, Maureen served as a Certified School Nurse with the Essex County Vo-Tech school system, retiring in 1999. Since retiring she taught an LPN nursing program.
Maureen belonged to the Women of Irish Heritage. She toured Ireland and Europe and traveled across the United States.
She is survived by her daughter Maureen Lyn of Point Pleasant, NJ and her son Michael J. of Germantown, TN, two grandsons, Devin and Alexander, and her brother Dr. Thomas McDermott of Kingston, Pa.
Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday April 22, 2003 at 9:00 AM for a 10:00 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Service at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church in Mt. Lakes, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
