Robert Bob Gattoni, 79, died at his home in Mt. Tabor, NJ on Saturday March 29. 2008.
Mr. Gattoni was born in Jersey City and was a longtime resident of Mt. Tabor, NJ. He served in the United States Army National Guard. He was the owner operator of Gattoni Balance Calibration Co. in Denville, NJ for 55 Years. He was a driver at the Green Hill Nursing Home in Verona, and a seasonal greeter at the Toys-R-Us in Rockaway Township Mall. He was the past president of the Mt. Tabor Childrens Day Association, was on the Board of Directors at Ada Budrick Child Day Care in Boonton, was the past president of Mt. Tabor Camp Meeting Association and former Mayor of Mt. Tabor, was a past president of the Mt. Tabor Mens Club, was the former Fire Commissioner of Parsippany Fire Co. #1, was a past president of the Saints Golf Open at Saint Clares Hospital, was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Denville, he received the Paul Harris Fellow award from the Morris Plains Rotary and is currently a member of the Boonton Rotary, he participated in the Rotary short term leader exchange program to Japan, he received the Morris County 1999 Outstanding Volunteer award. He was an avid Mets fan. Bob never missed a Long Valley Raider game, Wolfpack hockey game, LVBA, or Lacrosse game that his grandchildren played in.
His wife Gertrude A. Duran Gattoni and sister Agnes Grupe predeceased him in 2005 and a niece Eileen L. Divita in 1999.
His daughters Laura Winters and her husband Brian of Long Valley, NJ, Linda Raymond and her husband Mark of New Port Richey, Fl, his grandchildren, Kevin, Alex, and Brooke Winters, and Eric Arlan, and son in law, William Arlan and his wife Iris, his niece Kathleen Anne Conroy survive him.
Relatives and friends will be received on Monday April 7th from 4-7pm and may attend funeral services at 7pm at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave, Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Bob on web site).
