Obituary of Alberto Alas
Jorge Alberto Alas passed away suddenly on Monday, November 2nd in the comfort of his home in Morristown. He had shared 43 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and amazing memories with family and friends. Although he was taken too soon, he has left an everlasting impact on so many lives.
Alberto was born in Suchitoto, El Salvador to Maria Fidelina Hernandéz Carerro and the late Andrés Alas Cruz. He was one of seven children to bless the Hernandéz Alas household. After graduating High School, he went on to pursue a career in the Culinary Arts. At age 21, he relocated to the United States and settled in Morristown where he worked as a Chef.
Alberto was always the life of the party. He loved to have fun. Dancing was his passion and he was fantastic at it. The beach was his happy place. He loved to travel and explore the world, even though Miami was his favorite.
Alberto truly broke the mold when he was born; he was an affectionate, humble, and kind man with an old soul. He was a man you could consistently count on for everything, especially when it came to needing a confidence boost. He got so much joy out of making other people feel good, always sharing inspiration and compliments. We are deeply saddened by his passing, yet find comfort knowing he is safe at home in Heaven, free from all of life’s worries, shining his love and light down on us from above.
He leaves many joyful memories to his adored Mom and best friend, Maria; his cherished siblings, Edgar Alexander Alas, Yesenia Hernandéz, Edwin Saul Hernandéz, Juan Hernandéz, Oscar Hernandéz, and Marina Magdalena; his loving nephews, Juan Hernandéz and Anthony Hernandéz; and many extended family and dear friends.
All services will be private. Alberto will be buried in Cementerio General Suchitoto, in Cuscatlan, El Salvador. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Alberto here to continue to celebrate the incredible life he endowed to us.
