Mr. Gerald R. Balich died on Wednesday Jan. 1 at the Compassionate Care Hospice at Dover, NJ. He was 85 years old. He was born in West New York, NJ. He retired and moved to Laguna Niguel, Ca for 17 years and returned to Rockaway, NJ in May of 2002.
Mr. Balich was the Vice President of Mazor Balich Contracting Co of Fairfield, NJ and then became a Project Cost Estimator at the Woolsulate Co. at Fairfield, NJ he retired in 1985.
Mr. Balich served during WW II in the US Army Air Corps.
He survived by his wife of 59 years Olga (Nee Koniuk) Balich of Rockaway, NJ. His sister Lucy and her husband John Mazor of Franklin Lakes, NJ, his nephews John and George Mazor both of Wyckoff, NJ.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial Service on Sat at 9:30 AM at the St. Bernards Church Rockaway, NJ, Interment St. Josephs Cemetery Hackensack, NJ. Friends will be received Friday Jan. 3 at 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ.
