Mrs. Phyllis M. Burns died on Saturday at the Eastern Star Home of New Jersey. She was 89 years old. Mrs. Burns was born in Somerville, NJ and lived in Indian Lake section of Denville, NJ. She had moved to Naples Fl and then to Bridgewater, NJ.
Mrs. Burns was a Comptometer Operator, and Bookkeeper at the Haudaille Industries in Morristown, NJ for 14 years and the Allied Chemical Co., of Morristown, NJ for two years. Mrs. Burns retired 25 years ago.
Mrs. Burns was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader in Denville, NJ. A Sunday school teacher for the Denville Community Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star Harding Chapter of Rockaway, NJ since 1954. A Worthy Matron in 1962.
Mrs. Burns was the wife of the late William E. Burns (1970). The mother of Ruth Ann and her husband Robert Burns Ziotkowski of Scotia, NY and Martha Burns of Greenbackville, VA. Grandmother of Christina and her husband Solon Ziotkowski Parker of Shoreham, NY and Deborah and her husband Alan Ziotkowski Schwank of Scotia, NY Great Grandmother of Jazmine, Melysa, S.Robert and Sarah Parker of Shoreham, NY. Sister of Florence and her husband Farnham Coates Vanderhoof and Martha Coates both of Denville, NJ. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, Grandniece and grandnephews and great grandnieces and nephews.
All are invited to attend the funeral service at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ on Monday Dec. 30, at 10:00AM. Interment Rockaway Valley Cemetery Boonton Twp, NJ. Friends will be received Monday 9:00AM till time of services. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations to Eastern Star Home Memorial Garden Project 111 Finderne Ave., Bridgewater, NJ 08807 would be appreciated.
