Obituary of Russell J. Allaman

Russell J. Allaman, 67, died on Sunday January 6, 2013, at St. Clares Hospital in Denville, NJ.
Russ was born in Newark, NJ to the late George and Julia Allaman and moved to the Indian Lake Section of Denville in 1958.
He graduated from Morris Hills High School in Rockaway in 1963. He had graduated from County College of Morris with an Associates Degree, and later attended William Paterson University in Wayne where he had received a Bachelors Degree and later a Master Degree.
He served in the U. S. Marines during the Vietnam War and following his service he became a police officer in Denville. Russ had held many positions within the department and retired as a Lieutenant in 1995.He has been a life member of Denville P.B.A. Local #142 where he had served as a Delegate.
He has been a member of the Denville American Legion Post #390, and he has also served as an Usher at St. Mary’s Church in Denville.
Russ has been a member of the Indian Lake Community Club since he was a child and he has served as a Trustee and was a Past President of the Club.
He is survived by his wife of forty three years Cheryl Deemer Allaman, as well as his children, Noelle and Joseph Tironi of Denville, Russell Jr. and Tina Allaman of Cary, NC, Tim Allaman of Jersey City and Jennifer and Joe Cuff of Denville, and his seven grandchildren Trevor Tironi, Dante Tironi, Brianna Allaman, Brittani Allaman, Braeden Allaman, Joey Cuff and Olivia Cuff.
He is also survived by his brother George and Linda Allaman of Denville, and his sisters Barbara and Jerry Smith of Sparta and Jacqueline Tighe of Denville, as well as many nieces and nephews and great friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial Service will be held on Friday January 11th at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church in Denville, NJ.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday January 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com.
