Robert D. Letsche, 57 died on Wednesday Dec.11, 2002 at the Rehabilitation Institute of Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown,NJ.
Robert was born in Jersey City and Grew up in Rutherford, NJ. He had lived in Rockaway, NJ before moving to Denville 16 years ago.
He had served in the N.J. National Guard in the Late 1960s.
He graduated from Jersey City State Teachers College in Jersey City, NJ in 1967, with a BA in Elementary Education. He had then gone on to further continue his studies in Urban Education.
He had worked as an Elementary school teacher working at the Memorial Elementary School in Totowa, NJ where he had worked for 30 years, retiring in January, 2002
He had been a Girls Basketball coach at Kennedy High School in Paterson, NJ from 1986 to 1993. He had always been a coach for various sports teams in the Morris ,Bergen, and Passaic Counties, and as his daughter got involved, he concentrated on working with her. He had also been an avid bowler and had bowled on many teams at the Rockaway Bowling Alley in Rockaway, NJ.
He had been a member of the New Jersey Educators Assoc., and has been a member of the Retired NJ Teachers Education Assoc.
He is Survived by his Wife Carolyn nee Ognek, His Daughter Margaret Maggie of Parsippany,NJ, two Sons, Michael D., and Raymond D. both at home. A Brother Dennis of Rutherford, NJ, and Two sisters, Ann Murphy of Rockaway, NJ, and Nancy Thompson of Rutherford, NJ.
Funeral from the funeral home on Monday December 16, 2002 at 8:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Services at St. Christopher's R. C. Church in Parsippany, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Donations are being accepted to NJ State Organization of Cystic Fibrosis PO Box 3648 Wayne, NJ 07474.
