Mr. William A. Loewen died on Wednesday at the Morris View Nursing Home in Morris Township, NJ. He was 98 Years Old. Mr. Loewen was born in Newark and lived in Maplewood and Manahawkin before moving to the Whippany area.
Mr, Loewen was Tractor-Trailer truck driver for over 45 years with Branch Motor Express Newark, NJ. He retired in 1967. He was a charter member of the Teamsters Union Local #478 Chauffeurs and Warehousemen Newark, NJ.
Mr. Loewen was a member of the Senior Islanders of Long Beach Island, The Old Guard of Waretown, NJ, the Elks of Manahawkin and the AARP of Long Beach Island. He enjoyed boating and fishing.
Mr. Loewen was married to the late Lillian. He has one daughter Doris L. Doris of Whippany; his two sons William R. of Kutztown, PA, and James E. of Denville, NJ. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Mr. Loewens family will gather at the Norman Dean Home for Services on Saturday Nov. 30 at 11AM for a 11:30AM service and then interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery East Hanover, NJ.
