Theresa was born in Ballyjamesduff, County Cavan, Ireland, came to the United States in 1939 settled in Brooklyn and The Bronx NY before moving to Denville, NJ in 1981. She was employed as a Custodian for 25 years for Young and Rubicam Company in New York City. Theresa was predeceased by her husband John Courtney in 1985 and her son-in-law Patrick Healy in 2011. Theresa is survived by her children, James Courtney and his wife Nora, Margaret M. Healy, and John Courtney and his wife Kathy, and her 12 grandchildren, Carol Maffei and her husband Louis, Kevin Healy and his wife Katrina, Deirdre Romero and her husband Nahum, Michael Healy, Matthew Healy, Jennifer Neill and her husband Paul, James Courtney and his wife Erin, Maribeth Courtney, Colleen Zorn and her husband Christian, John Courtney and his wife Lailani, Kathy McCaughey and her husband Jim, and Eileen Courtney, and her 16 great grandchildren, Brian and Christopher Healy, Tara and Anthony Maffei, Bridget and Timothy Romero, Matthew and Jared Etzrodt, Brian Neill, Molly and Joshua Zorn, Ben Courtney, Ceili, Seamus, Teagan, and Kenna McCaughey. Theresa’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please share a memory of Theresa on website), on Thursday January 3rd at 9:45am for a 10:45am Mass of Christian Burial Service at St. Mary’s Church Denville, NJ interment services at Denville Cemetery. Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday January 2nd at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
