Obituary of Edward E. Hill

Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Edward E. Hill, of Denville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. He was 83 years young.

Born in East Orange to the late Harry and Margaret Hill, he was raised in West Orange. He graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA in 1956 with a BA in Political Science. After returning home from College, he married his soulmate, Patricia Andrews. Together they relocated to Denville to begin their life and family together. After 44 years of hard work, dedication, and many accomplishments, he retired from MONY Securities Corp. as Senior Vice President - Compliance in New York in 1999. After retirement, he became even more involved at Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains, where he had been a member since 1970. He volunteered a lot of his time there and was Past Clerk of Sessions. Edward was a very quiet and organized man who always put his family first. He has left a legacy of devotion, commitment, and unconditional love that will remain with us for an eternity.

He leaves only joyful memories to his beloved wife of 61 years, Patricia (Andrews) Hill; his loving children, David E. Hill and his wife Debbie, Jeff Hill, and Robert Hill and his wife Maggie; his cherished grandchildren, Andrew and his wife Kelly, Colleen and her husband Steven, Christopher and his wife Heather, Daniel, Sarah, and Madelyne; his treasure great-grandchildren, Peyton and Allie; his caring brother, the late William and his wife Wynn; and nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Cremation will be private. Relatives and friends are welcome to pay their respects to Edward’s family on Sunday, June 24th from 1 – 4 pm at their home. Celebration of life will be announced at a later date at the Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains. Memorial Donations are being accepted in Edward’s memory to the Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains, 400 Speedwell Ave, Morris Plains, NJ 07950. Please leave a condolence and special memory for his family.
