Obituary of Florence Marie Zaccardi

Please share a memory of Florence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Florence Marie Zaccardi passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville. She had shared 93 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends. She was endearingly nicknamed “Flo”.

Born and raised in Jersey City to the late Mary Elizabeth Mae (Devlin) and Frederick Joseph Logan, Sr., Florence was one of five children to bless their household. After graduating High School, Flo went on to work for Bell Telephone as a Switchboard Operator. She married her soulmate, Biagio Anthony Zaccardi, in May of 1955. Together they settled into Jersey City to raise a family of their own; her longest and greatest career was as a Mom. She did enjoy a short employment with Krause's Homemade Candies in the late 80’s, even though the sweets did not tempt her.

Flo was an avid reader. She loved to peruse the NY Times and thoroughly enjoyed every fashion magazine and the Arts & Entertainment section of any newspaper. Her secret indulgence was watching television, particularly Law & Order and The Bold and the Beautiful. Flo was the person in the family we could sit down and have a conversation with and she could take you back to life in the 40’s & 50’s. She could recollect memories from decades ago with ease and enjoyment. She was a remarkable woman and an incredible, attentive, and doting Momma. She was classy, always dressed to nines with impeccable hairdo. According to her nieces and nephews, she was a beloved Aunt. “She was our favorite. All of us, all of our lives.”

Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing Flo is now reunited with those who have gone before: her husband, Biagio; her parents, Mary and Frederick Logan; and her siblings, Anna May Logan, Frederick Joseph Logan, Dolores M. Logan, and Susan I. Logan. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her cherished son and partner, Bill Zaccardi and Georgiana Squiers, as well as her treasured nieces, nephews, their families, and many dear extended family members.

Flo was a humble woman who preferred simplicity. In keeping with her wishes, no formal services will be held. If you would like to honor her memory in your own way, consider a donation to your local hospital. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, or share your favorite memory of Flo here to continue to celebrate her life and let her light shine.
