Obituary of Lawrence J. Casey

Lawrence J. Casey, 88 passed away peacefully on Friday, January 7, 2022 at United Methodist Community at Bristol Glen in Newton. Predeceased by his beloved wife Alice (2019), he leaves behind his loving children, Lawrence Peter and his wife Alice K. and Maryann Falduto and her husband Michael; his treasured grandchildren, Ryan and Casey Falduto; his cherished step-grandson, Ryan Kremp; and many more dear friends and relatives.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, January 16^th from 1 – 4 pm with a Funeral Service beginning at 4:00 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.

Memorial Donations are being accepted to the good work of the Denville Food Pantry, 1 St. Mary's Place, Denville NJ.

Lawrence was born in Union City to the late Joseph and Anna Casey. After graduating from Syracuse University he proudly served our country as an Officer with the US Air Force.  Upon his honorable discharge he was blessed to meet Alice Grod at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jersey City. They fell in love and married in 1960.

 In 1964 they settled in Denville to raise a family of their own.  Lawrence worked for Pan Am as a young man and then for Picatinny Arsenal retiring after many years of dedicated service. He always worked hard to provide a good life for his family

He enjoyed aeronautics and the mechanics of aircrafts.  He was a tinkerer and loved fixing things.  There was always something to be fixed!

He was an avid volunteer, donating many years to the Boy Scouts Troop 17.  He was active with the Denville Methodist Church and King of Kings Lutheran in Mountain Lakes.  He truly loved our community. 

Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is with his dear Alice again, watching over his family with love.
