Alberta Day Lucas (Brabban) passed away at Brightview Senior Living in Randolph, NJ on December 3, 2021, at the age of 90.

Born in Newark, she grew up in Belleville and had lived in Piscataway, NJ before moving to Ocean Pines, MD for 14 years and then moved back to NJ in 2006 and then to Rockaway Twp., NJ where she lived in Fox Hills since 2008.

After graduating from Belleville High School, she went on to graduate from the Packard Secretarial School in New York City in the late 1940’s.  She then met her soon to be husband on a blind date before marrying in 1951.  She then went to work as an executive secretary for the New York Times, Channel, and Home life, and finally went to work as a greeter at Charlie Brown’s in Denville, NJ.

Alberta loved to get involved and keep busy, she was a Girl Scout Leader, swim team president, member of various clubs at Fox Hills and she loved to be with her friends, whether it was going to the pool, playing poker, going bowling, happy hour with her infamous scotch sours, or just eating her favorite meal, which was breakfast.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Howard Lucas in 2009.

Alberta is survived by her loving daughter Tracy and her husband Brian Fitzgerald of Budd Lake, NJ and her grandchildren Casey Lucas Fitzgerald and Colin William Fitzgerald.
