Eugene was born on a sunny July day in 1934 to the late Stephen and Olga. He was raised in Denville, attending the Main St. Elementary School and graduating from Boonton HS.  After his schooling he proudly served our country from 1957-1959 with the US Army. Upon his honorable discharge he met Barbara Stephens and the rest was history. After a whirlwind courtship, they married and started a family of their own. They settled in Denville and have remained in the family home they had built for over 56 years.

Gene worked hard to provide a good life for his wife and kids.  He retired from Picattiny Arsenal as an engineer after decades of dedicated service. Retirement meant more time for traveling! Gene and Barbara were blessed to cruise and travel the world. They loved the adventures and exploring new places. The family traveled to Sanibel Island each year, a tradition which still occurs today. When he was home he loved antiquing and helping others with their own home projects.  Gene could fix anything and had the tools to do it.  Of course, his favorite title was that of “Papa” & “Grandpa”.  The sun rose and set on the grandchildren and he loved being with them. For Gene and Barbara, family is first always! He was a devoted husband, encouraging father and doting Papa.

Although his life has been full of blessings, Gene has had some heartache. Sadly, his son Wayne passed just a year ago. Although we are saddened by their passings we take comfort in knowing Wayne and Gene are together again watching over the Farbanish family with love.

Predeceased by his son Wayne; he leaves beautiful memories to his wife Barabra of 57 years; his children Lisa Perricane (Michael); and Brian Farbanish (Cheryl); his adored grandchildren William Woodard, Lyle and Rachel Antieau, Connor Perricane and Amanda, Lauren and Olivia Farbanish; his brother Robert Farbanish (Carol); his loyal canine Boomer; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
