Obituary of Bernard Raymond Koerner
Bernard “Bernie” Raymond Koerner passed away at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ on November 6, 2021, at the age of 95.
Born and raised in Secaucus, he lived in Parsippany, East Hanover - where he raised his family, Boonton Twp. and Florida before returning to NJ earlier this year.
After graduating Dickerson High School, he proudly served in the Army Air Corps during WWII from 1944 to 1946.
Bernie was the Co-Founder and President of Jensen & Koerner Crane Service, Inc. for many years before retiring in 1988, and part of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #825 for 75 years.
He was a Fireman with Washington Hook &Ladder, Secaucus, and District 6 in Parsippany, Troy Hills.
His passions were summering and boating at his summer home on Lake Hopatcong, RVing around the country and flying in his Cessna airplane, which he enjoyed for over 50 years. Above all else he loved to spend time with his family.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife L. Ann (Henkel) Koerner, his granddaughter Jessica Koerner, his sister Carol (Koerner)Richman and his brother-in-law Joseph Robinson.
Bernie is survived by his loving children Bernard Jr. and his wife Jenny Koerner of Stephensville, TX, Lynn Koerner of Port Murray, NJ and Bruce and his wife Maria Koerner of Morris Plains, NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren Amy (& Wayne) Morse, Kelly (& Ryan) Reed, Erin Maier, Caitlin (& Kevin) Brown, Greg (& Kay) Maier and Brice Koerner, Kamryn Koerner, as well as his great grandchildren Landry Reed, Ava, Ginessa and Elissa Maier, Brooks and Brodie Brown, and by his sister Audrey (Koerner)Robinson of Florida, his brother-law Michael Richman.
