Obituary of Patricia L. Clackner

Patricia L. Clackner (Weldon) passed away peacefully at Compassionate Care Hospice on March 30, 2018, at the age of 88. Born in Hoboken she summered in the Indian Lake section of Denville before moving there permanently in the summer of 1968. Patricia worked as the secretary to the superintendent of the Denville Board of Education for 30 years before retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Denville since 1968, and was a longtime member of the Indian Lake Community Club. She volunteered and ran the Book Barn in Denville for 25 years. An avid NY Rangers, she was known as a "Hockey Mom", and "Honorary Assistant Captain", she also helped to start Denville P.A.L. Hockey. In her spare time she enjoyed taking trips to Lavallette, NJ. Patricia was predeceased by her beloved husband John E. Clackner Sr. in 1968, as well as her son John E. Clackner Jr. in 2006, and her sister Marilyn Tatka in 1986. She is survived by her loving sons Jared and his wife Kim Ann Clackner of Denville, and Christopher and his wife Michelle Clackner of Morris Plains, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jessica Lynn and her husband Ben Egdorf, John, Christine, Ryan, Thomas, Robert G. and his fiancé Elena Gaudiano, Amy Lynn and Patrick Alan, as well as her brother Charles E. Weldon and his wife Theresa of Denville and her great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family, dear friend Bill Mitchell and of course her cat Frank. Funeral services will begin on Thursday April 5, 2018, at 9am at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com and then going to St. Mary's Church in Denville for a 10am Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
