Allison Flatt Brengel

"You can always tell where a beautiful soul has been by the tears and the smiles left behind."

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of AllisonFaith Brengel.  She shared 50 years of pure joy, love and laughter with every life she touched.  A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2:30 pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Boonton.  Flowers are lovely, but donations in her memory may be made to the good work of the Susan G. Komen Foundation by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.  Please share your memories here.  Her family will cherish them forever.

Allison was born on the 22nd of May, 1967 to Charles and Caroline Flatt.  Growing up in Boonton in the Flatt house was always entertaining.  So many fun times and memories of vacations in the family camper, holidays, spending Sundays at her Grandparents, visits with Aunts, Uncles and cousins and just playing in the neighborhood with great friends.  She was born into a home of love and in turn was destined to create one of her own.

Always fashion forward, Allison attended cosmetology school.  Soon after she met Steven Brengel and the couple married on June 13, 1987.  She adored him , they both would say to each other “you are my  best friend in the world”   They settled in Chatam, NJ and started their family.  Steve’s career took them many places through the years, finally landing in Florida.  Allison was of constant support of this and ready to take on their next adventure.  She had a way of making you feel as though there were no miles between you and she; always calling her family and friends and putting everyone first.  With Steve by her side, every day was wonderful.  For years She would gather the families together in the Outer Banks for some of the most memorable vacations. She loved having everyone together for those special times. One of her most recent trips was a surprise 50th birthday party, planned by her husband, to Siesta Key, FL with her family and best friend Kathy. She was over the moon and shocked that everyone surprised her and kept this a secret for so long. It was filled with memories that we’ll cherish forever.

Allison was an amazing Daughter, Wife, Mother, Aunt and Sister.  She loved shopping and making a beautiful home filled with love and happy memories.  Like Mother, like Daughter.   She adored her niece and nephew who were like her own children.  The impact she has left on their lives is immeasurable.  Her mother used to say that laughing was one of her “special gifts”.  It was contagious and was a sound like no other… the belly busting kind.  We will miss that laugh so very much.  There is no better friend than a sister and there was no better sister than Allie . She and Sandy were thicker than thieves.  Everyone should be so lucky. She was the strongest, most beautiful, loving soul.

Someone once said “share your smile with the world.”  Today we can say the universe was blessed to have had Allison in it.  Her smile lit up our worlds and brought happiness and peace to everyone she knew.

Allison was a Mom.  She was the most amazing Mom. She loved her children like nothing else.  They are her masterpieces and were her greatest source of strength.  Most recently she was crowned “Grandma” and was over the moon to welcome baby Cooper into the world.  Despite any obstacles thrown her way, these past eight months have been magical with Cooper.  She was the proudest Grandma, happy to buy out the department stores of teeny onesies ,toys and anything else she could get her hands on. She relished having this little one in her life.  Cooper will surely grow up knowing how much he was loved by his Grandma Allie.

Although her time here was all too short, we take comfort in knowing we have an Angel watching over us always. And for the rest of our lives, we will search for moments full of you and be grateful for the joys you brought us.

Predeceased by her Mother Caroline; Allison leaves beautiful memories to her husband Steven of 30 years; daughter Nicole Lee Brengel; sons Matthew Steven (Victoria) and Nicholas Charles; her grandson and light Cooper Mason;  Father Charles Flatt; brother Charles Flatt III, sister Sandy Baldini (Russell); nieces and nephews Casondra Rolph, Cameron Rolph, Jessica Wilke (Chris), Sarah Connelly (John) Megan, Michael (Janie), David, Jacob and Zachary Brengel;great niece and nephews Mia, Christian, Jacob, Johnny, and Riley; Mother in Law Theresa Brengel; brother in law Bill Brengel (Tara) and many more dear relatives, friends, fans and acquaintances.
