Obituary of James V. Okker

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James V. "Jimmy" Okker, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. He was 67 years young. Born and raised in North Haledon, he was a graduate of Manchester Regional Schools in Haledon. Jimmy was an avid skier with a great sense of humor. He loved to watch old movies and was very talented at restoring classic cars. Cars were a passion of his and he spent a lot of time watching car races, which he would travel all over the United States for. A hard working man, Jimmy had many careers. For many years he was a Heavy Machine Operator for John Joseph Inc. in Ridgewood. Following that, he worked at Mine Ridge Inc. for 10 years. For the past 20 years, he was a Cook at Saint Clare's Hospital in Denville. Since 2004 he has been a member of Heavy and General Construction Laborers Local #472. He leaves only happy memories to his adopted family, Gail Kuchavik of Tannersville, PA; her sons, Michael, Adam, Matthew, and Luke; and her grandchildren, Devon, Andrew, Michael, Stephanie, Gabriella, Jacon, Olivia, Alexandra, and Andre. Memorial Mass will take place at 10AM on Tuesday October 17, 2017, at St. Francis Residential Community, Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel, 9 Pocono Road, Denville, NJ 07834. Please leave a condolence and special memory for his adopted family.
