Obituary of Eleanore Jean Dixon

Eleanore Jean (Peterson) Dixon passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ on March 27, 2017, at the age of 84. Born and raised in Kearny, she moved to Belleville in 1961 and then to Denville, NJ in 2002. Eleanore worked as a bookkeeper and in medical billing for Affiliates in Gastroenterology in West Orange for many years before retiring. She was predeceased by her husband William Kenneth Dixon in 2001. Eleanore is survived by her loving children Keith and his wife, Maryjo of South Brunswick; Lorraine Halpern and her husband, Jeffrey of Denville; Diane LaPara and her husband, Joseph of New Providence. She is also survived by her grandchildren Corinne Halpern, Brian Dixon, Cailley LaPara, Melissa LaPara, Elyse Halpern and Juliana LaPara, and lifelong cousin and friend, Dorothy Hannan of Westfield. Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Saturday April 1, 2017, at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Kearny, NJ. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. True to Eleanore's spirit, the family wishes to encourage all who knew her to love family and friends, be kind to those encountered in life, and to consider supporting one's favorite charity.
