Obituary of Edward E Kappock

Edward Eugene Kappock, 91 of Rockaway, NJ passed away on March 24, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Leonardo, NJ on June 18, 1925, Edward and his two brothers enjoyed growing up on the beaches of NJ. His family then moved to Teaneck, NJ where he attended Teaneck High School; leaving High School early to join the Navy. He was a Quarter Master third class when he was discharged from the Navy in 1946. He then attended Rutgers University in Newark, NJ on the GI Bill. Ed started his career at the Diamond Match Co., then moving to work for Kimberly Clark Corp. as a Division Sales Manager. He was with Kimberly for most of his career. He met and married Jane in 1948, settled in Whippany, NJ to raise their three children. Ed retired at 70 years old and worked part time for the Morris Cty. Park Commission at their golf course, one of his favorite pastimes. Edward was predeceased by his wife, Jane Van Houten; daughter, Cynthia Bruno; grandson, Jason Brownell; and brothers, Thomas and John Kappock. Edward is survived by his loving daughter, Debbie Godleski and husband John of Hackettstown, NJ; and son, Donald Kappock; his beloved grandchildren Alicia, Christa, Justin, LeAnne, Jessy, Johnathan and Courtney; two great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Willow. Edward will be remembered for his love of golf, the NY Giants and his family. Memorial visitation will take place on Friday, March 31 from 3-7 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. A Funeral Service along with military honors will begin at 6:30 pm.
