Obituary of Mildred Ridner

Please share a memory of Mildred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mildred Ridner (nee Decker), passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12th following a brief illness. She shared 97 ½ years of love, laughter and wisdom with her family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 15th at 5:30 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Visitation will begin at 3 pm that afternoon. Donations in her name to the good work of Juvenile Diabetes may be made by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org. Mildred was born in Rockaway to the late George and Anna. She left school at a young age to help run the family business, Decker Sawmill. She met Vincent Ridner and the couple settled on Meriden Road in 1939. Mildred was fortunate to raise her family in this home and remain there until her last days. She was amazing Wife, Mom, Grandma and Great Gram; always putting her family first and creating wonderful times together. A product of the greatest generation, Mildred knew the value of hard work and a dollar. She tended a garden for many years, harvesting her own vegetables to feed her family and friends. She was an original member of the Hibernia Ladies Auxiliary, a lifelong NY Yankees Fan and really did enjoy a good dvd - no commercials! This dear Matriarch surely will be missed. Predeceased by her husband Vincent (1997), beloved daughter Barbara (1965), grandchildren Larry and Elise and her sisters Georgeanna, Betty and Laura; she is survived by her children Carol Perez (Dario), Vincent (Linda), George, Thomas and William (Lynn); five grandchildren; eight great grands; brother Bob Decker; and her loyal canine and feline- Tippy and Ted.
