Floyd Patterson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. He was 61. Floyd suffered a stroke in January and has been fighting for his health since then. He was a blessing in this world and many lives are richer because of him. Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17th from 6-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. But if you can’t, please share them at www.normandean.com Born in Philadelphia to the late William and Zedir, Floyd was one of four children. After his schooling he attended the academy and worked as an officer with Ringwood and Oakland Police Departments, SPCA and later a retired Deputy Sheriff from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Dept. Law enforcement was his lifelong dream. When he wasn’t at work he enjoyed old cowboy movies, listening to music and spending time with his family and his beloved cat Mimi (deceased) and dog Brandon. Predeceased by his parents; he leaves his estranged wife Carrie; sons Michael and Daniel; sisters Renet Hausman and Jill Dawson, brother William; and his adoring nieces and nephews Saranee, Vernon, Brian, Chelsea, Tanice, Clifford, and Jesyka; and many more dear friends and caretakers.
