Standing on the moon With nothing else to do A lovely view of heaven But I’d rather be with you. -The Grateful Dead Robert “Bobby” Gormley, passed away at home on Thursday, July 28, 2016. He was 64 years young and will be missed dearly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 2nd at 10:30 am at St. Simon the Apostle Church, 1010 Green Pond Rd, Newfoundland, NJ. Friends, fans and relatives may visit on Monday, August 1st from 5-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville, NJ 07834. **Please, come casual. Bob would prefer it!** In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the good work of St. Simon’s Church, The Green Pond First Aid Squad or the Green Pond Volunteer Fire Dept. www.inmemoryof-memorial.org. Born in New York, Bobby grew up in Rockaway Township, where he has always loved and enjoyed the Green Pond community. After HS, he attended Ramapo College earning his BA in psychology. He worked at AT&T, the Arc and later Pfizer retiring in 2008. Bobby was a skilled and accomplished guitarist; both acoustic and electric. He was lead guitarist for the Hobie Drews Band. He was a passionate and true Grateful Dead fan. He was a loving son, dear brother, cool Uncle and a kind friend. His light will shine on all who had the pleasure of knowing him and hearing his music. Predeceased by his father Vincent; he is survived by his adoring Mother Marjorie (nee Schremp); sister Susan Niewenhous (Thomas); brothers Christopher, Peter, Geoffrey (Brynn) and Thomas (Jennifer); his six nieces and nephews and many more loving relatives, colleagues and friends.
